Mountain Biking in Duluth
Join us at Hartley Nature Center this Wednesday, May 4 for “Mountain Biking Opportunities in Duluth”- Adam Sundberg, president of COGGS, will present information on the expanding opportunities for mountain biking in and around Duluth. COGGS has been working diligently to provide sanctioned mountain biking trails for the citizens of this region. Program is sponsored by the McCabe Chapter of the Izaak Walton League and begins at 7 p.m.

I was out walking the old DWP railbed south of the tunnel today when I saw a blue bumper sticker for adventureduluth.com stuck on the back of a stop sign. I tried to visit the site, but it no longer exists. Anyone know anything about adventureduluth.com and what it was?

I’m looking for a Duluth-area photographer that wants to go to the Dominican Republic around February 2012. I’m gettin’ hitched down there and need someone who’s willing to eat and drink all they want for a few days and snap some photos of my family, friends, myself and my beautiful wife-to-be. By popular demand, we chose Big Daddy’s Burgers as the next location in our “Breakfast in Duluth” series. Because it’s located next to Arthur’s Formal Wear in the Piedmont Plaza, we considered renting tuxedos so we’d look good while scarfing down our omelets, but unfortunately that wasn’t in the budget, so we kept our regular clothes on and, as usual, looked like a couple of fools. Members of the band Sexhawk are now Hollywood-style mega-celebrities — their cellulite, receding hairlines and boozy nights out subject to the same relentless scrutiny as other A-listers.

Transworld Snowboarding video contest – Vote for your local shop!
Damage Boardshop over on 1904 W. Superior St. submitted a quick shop edit to Transworld Snowboarding‘s website for its Neff: East vs. West shop video contest. For all of you metal fans they used a song by Class of ’86 and edited without all the foreplay, getting straight to the point and making it last a little over 2 minutes (which is totally normal for most of those guys.)
Everyone can vote one time (tracked by I.P.) so if you really like it and you’re at work go make your rounds on all the desktops! If you don’t like it STFU and make your own last-minute edit.
