Tony Hawk Art Sweepstakes Ends
Gary New Duluth Community Center and Recreation Area is holding a sweepstakes with the chance to win a piece of original artwork by Tim Cortes that pays homage to famed skateboard master Tony Hawk. Entries are being accepted at betterworld.org. The painting was created directly on a "canvas" of three skateboard decks, illustrating Hawk's rise from a youth to an adult as the icon of skateboarding. Superior High School Dig Pink
The Superior High School Girls Volleyball team partners with St. Luke’s Foundation on October 3 to host Dig Pink, an event where all of the proceeds from ticket sales, silent auction, and raffles go to the St. Luke’s foundation to help with breast cancer research, education and helping families currently battling breast cancer in northern Minnesota and Wisconsin.
