Guns & Hoses Charity Softball Game 2017

The Duluth Police Department play softball against the Duluth Fire Department for the 10th annual Guns and Hoses Charity Softball Game. Net proceeds from food and beverage sales will be donated to the Northern Lights Foundation, a non-profit organization that gives grants to children facing life-threatening illnesses. Paddle the Pads 2017 Bass Fly Fishing Tournament

Help celebrate Duluth’s newly-restored section of the St. Louis River at Chambers Grove Park by competing in the “Paddle the Pads” fishing contest. Chum is once again working with Duluth School District 709 and the Union Gospel Mission to host their Back to School Fair, where families with limited resources can receive school supplies and backpacks. Close to 600 backpacks were distributed last year. (Volunteers are also needed to stuff the backpacks with supplies on Aug. 28 from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. at the Central Administration Building, 215 N. Food will be available for purchase at the Wade Stadium concession stands. A percentage of concessions sales will also be donated.

ALS Walleye Tournament 2018

The 23rd annual ALS Walleye Tournament on Island Lake raises money to combat amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gerhig's disease. About 300 anglers are expected to participate, raising roughly $150,000.
