This two-hour class focuses on the fundamental building blocks of story by examining “story beats” in both literary classics and by reading flash fiction examples. The group will look at genre and literary fiction, allowing participants to find their voice within. The Duluth Public Library, the Duluth Library Foundation, The Depot and Zenith Bookstore will host a citywide Evening with Author William Kent Krueger at the Depot Theater on Saturday. Krueger will present his new novel, A River To Remember, which has received widespread acclaim since its release earlier this month. Organizers describe that attendees "encounter the stages of the pilgrim's way—from hearing the call to coming home, accompanied by scripture stories of biblical journeys and the author's practices of prayer, writing, and photography."

Zenith Bookstore celebrates Dianna Hunter's new novel Clouded Waters (Holy Cow! Press). The book launch will include a reading, discussion and book signing, with music by Duluth singer and guitarist Terrol Cousineau, crushing-it stylist on the bluesy, soulful and sometimes Western sides of R&B.
