Twin Ports Festival of History 2023: Misaabekong
The opening event of the Twin Ports Festival of History features Linda Grover presenting "Misaabekong: The Place of the Giants" in the Great Hall of the Duluth Depot. Members of the public are invited to bring an antique or collectible to the Duluth Depot's rotunda for a free appraisal. Denny Mager of Northern Specialty will offer opinions on the value of submitted antiques. People may bring up to two items for an informal oral identification and evaluation of each antique. Back by popular demand, Duluth writer and instructor Felicia Schneiderhan will once again offer her memoir workshop in person. In this four-week workshop, participants will study a variety of memoirs and learn traditional and experimental forms for writing their own memoir. Duluth Chamber New Member Mixer 2023
The Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce's monthly networking event for May is its ninth annual New Member Mixer. New chamber members will showcase their businesses alongside local food and drink in the Depot's Great Hall. It's the first New Member Mixer since 2018. There will be DJ music, a 360° photo booth and prizes.

The STEAM Festival is a community event focusing on science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. Denfeld DNA and 3-D Robotics will be there with mechanical magic. There will be a mix of hands-on stations, displays and demonstrations from various STEM and cultural organizations. Kids will be encouraged to engage in experiments and art projects, interact with robots in action and view educational displays.
