Homegrown Music Video Encore

For those of you who missed the LSD-tripping fabulousness of the Homegrown Music Video festival, don’t go cry in your pillow, come to Zinema 2 on Wednesday at 10pm for an encore performance.

Also, if you are a filmmaker, think about putting your film on the internets. It’s what all the kids are doing these days and then we can compile them on this here blog site for those that couldn’t get off the beer stool for either screening.

For sweeties or tweeties, head to the Western Waterfront Trail

Western Waterfront Trail runs along the St. Louis River

Not sure why I’m thinking this way, but if you’d like to impress your sweetie with your knowledge of Duluth’s cool places, plus get some exercise and check out spring, you can’t go wrong with a nice long walk on the Western Waterfront Trail. The St. Louis River is full of migrating birds, the trail is wide enough and dry enough for hand-holding, and it is so much more “perfect Duluth” than the tourist-lined Lakewalk.

Read more details, including directions to the seldom-used but way better eastern trailhead.

AdventureDuluth.com?

I was out walking the old DWP railbed south of the tunnel today when I saw a blue bumper sticker for adventureduluth.com stuck on the back of a stop sign. I tried to visit the site, but it no longer exists. Anyone know anything about adventureduluth.com and what it was?

Darn Kids and Their Music

Somebody tell them to turn down their music at Leif Erickson and/or Bayfront Park. I live above Skyline and it’s been driving me insane. And while they’re at it, get off my lawn.

Why is water running out of this pipe?

[This post originally contained a photo embedded from another website which no longer exists.]

I know Chester Creek runs UNDER the armory. Why is water running out of this pipe? Is there a stream of water the third floor too? What is the source of this water?

Lookin’ for good Photogs

I’m looking for a Duluth-area photographer that wants to go to the Dominican Republic around February 2012. I’m gettin’ hitched down there and need someone who’s willing to eat and drink all they want for a few days and snap some photos of my family, friends, myself and my beautiful wife-to-be. The only qualifications you need are to have experience in professional photography and to know how to keep up with some fun people that want to get down in paradise.  Comment to leave info to set up a meeting i.e. phone number, e-mail, website to your portfolio.
