Bella, Missing Cat from East Hillside

Myself, along with others I know have all had our cats go missing within this past week. Are there others experiencing this horrible phenomena?

I am absolutely bummed about this. Bella has never been away from home for more than a few hours.

She is an orange and white cat, around 8 Ibs. She was last seen June 30, on East Eighth Street between 7th and 8th avenue. She may or may not still be wearing her pink ‘safetycat’ collar with ID.

If you have any information regarding her, or if you even think you may have spotted her, please contact us @: ricer26 @ yahoo.com.

We miss her so much. She is a beloved member of our family.

Who is on Google Plus?

For such a wee little place, it seems like Duluth has a pretty large footprint. Your thoughts? Comments?

I’ve been enjoying it, but it is definitely a very tech heavy crowd that I’ve seen so far (for obvious reasons, who else would you want to beta test something?). But I’m always game for connecting more with liberal arts, socks-with-sandals, bumper-sticker activist types.

Busy week …

I enjoyed Fourth Fest a lot — the carnival was a treat, and the local food vendors make the fireworks a filling, as well as visually appealing, spectacle.

Ahead, for me, this week:

Downtown Duluth hosts a street festival.
Teatro Zuccone hosts a burlesque.
And there is Taste of Greece.
Two Harbors also hosts a festival, I think.

What would you do? Have I missed the real gem?

Duluth Motorcycle Mechanics

I am looking for a mechanic to help me keep my 1988 Honda NX250 running. Preferably a mom-and-pop shop for all my motorcycle repair needs, or someone who works on bikes on the side for cash/barter. Will drive up to 100 miles outside of the Twin Ports if needed. Any advice is appreciated!

North Shore prime

If you can find a place to park other than the side of Highway 61, this would would be an ideal weekend to explore North Shore state parks without all the crowds. Boldly enter at the gates or use the trails (SHT) running into them. And the lupines up the shore are stunning right now.

Busking in Duluth

I’ve been reading a lot about the possibilities of busking in Duluth, and I still can’t really tell what the verdict is. I went to the city site to see if there is actually a form or something, and I saw nothing.

So, is busking in town free of licensing? It seems to be the case, but I can’t be 100 percent sure.

Also, is the audition process something you must do? There was a lot of coverage of the “official” buskers, but I couldn’t see anything about whether they were the only people allowed to play on the street.

Battle for Duluth

I heard this morning about World of Fourcraft which uses Foursquare as an engine for a giant game with teams trying to take over New York City.

So, fellow nerds, why don’t we have this for the Twin Ports? Anyone want to tackle this? Sounds like great fun! Imagine Cakeeaters battling marauding hordes of displaced Trojans. I mean, just the team names would be a hoot!
