Wanted: beach water temperature patrol

Maybe this is already somewhere on the webs, but wouldn’t it be nice to have somewhere to go to see how warm/cold the lake is before venturing down for a swim? I’m not talking exact temps per say, but a simple, yeah, the water off the point is “vagina aching cold” today, or, the water at Brighton is “just peed in the lake” warm, come on down. Of course, it’s never a bad idea to mosey on down to the lake and find out for yourself, but it would be way cool to have a temp update too.

Well my dear, the current water temperature is 64.4 degrees. Please apply this topical information to which ever vaginal ache scale you reference.

Thanks for sharing the great links. I always ran off of the NOAA’s Lake Superior Surface Water Temperature page, but I like the detail of the previous ones!

There’s a brand-new site coming soon; beta’s up at parkpointbeach.org; final will have water temp, rip risk, bacteria warnings (if any), waves, wind, and weather for the beach all in one spot and via Twitter, Facebook, etc. Stay tuned!

Don’t forget that beach advisory data are available MN Lake Superior beaches @ https://www.mnbeaches.org (which contains the parkpointbeach.org site)
