Good Duluth dry cleaners?

My husband needs his good winter coat cleaned, but I don’t know anything about the dry cleaners in Duluth. Which ones are recommended? Which ones (if any) should we avoid?

Missing Dog in Lakeside

Our dog escaped this morning in the area of 43rd and Superior St.  He has a red collar with no tags (yeah, yeah, I know) and his name is Buddy.  He’s very friendly and very sweet.  Short and fat like a basset.

If you see him, please call us at 5two5-three9three0. Thanks.

Local Music

I’m new to Perfect Duluth Day and my roommate told me he got some good discussions when he brought up his electronic music endeavors). I’ve been messing around with a few production programs for a while now and I’m always looking for people interested to talk shop with.  Any critiques or general comments would be awesome, but opportunities to swap techniques and explore possible collaborations are always on my radar as well.  If any of my songs are up your alley, get after me and let’s pump out some tunes together!

Take a listen, and I hope you enjoy it!

Hazeltron

P.S.

I also DJ with a collective called the Crunchy Bunch.  We’ll be playing at the Rex Bar in Fitger’s this Wednesday, and on Friday, Oct. 7.   We play all kinds of music, so if you like to dance to loud stuff come check us out!

Tom Russell – “Mesabi”

Have you ever seen Duluth
when the Great Lake waves were pounding?
There must be some way out of there
You might end up lost or drowning

And the polkas at the Polish dance halls
And the carnivals of Spring
Rock and roll on that upright piano
And the kids make the high school rafters ring

CD “jewel cases” — whaddayadowidem?

Does anybody know how to get rid of old plastic CD cases “in a good way”?

Let the pelican rock your world.

An American White Pelican has been cruising off of Park Point the last day or two, between the Lift Bridge and the S-Curve. This bird is HUGE. And so beautiful. Read here about my close encounter with this fine creature this morning.

Oktoberfest

I happily attended Oktoberfest this weekend.

Fest

It’s a vast improvement over last year. Last year, tents were huddled behind orange fencing, penning the whole event into a tiny space as if to say: it’s too cold to enjoy the outdoors. This year, the whole event is more spacious, with a central walkway between a food tent, a beer tent, a kettle corn tent, a tent for the MPR Current (can we get that up here yet?), an area for bean bag games and feats of strength and, of course, the dance tent.

Found Cat Near UMD
