Mystery Photo: Children in Front of Depression-era Duluth Home

This old photo, titled “1940 DULUTH Children in Front of Home DEPRESSION ERA Photo (198-N)” popped up on eBay recently.

Whether it’s truly a Duluth photo or not, we can’t say for sure, so there are many potential mysteries to unravel. One big question is how the girl on the right was born with four legs.

Oh, wait, no, there’s a third kid peering from behind an armpit.

Not many FSA photographers in Duluth, 1940. Wouldn't Duluth, Georgia be more likely?

It could indeed be a Georgia photo, but based on other PDD posts we have some evidence Russell Lee was shooting in Duluth for the Farm Service Agency in 1937 and John Vachon was here in 1941.

The girl to the left is a copy of my sisters child who is now 17 years old. It is insane!!! Would be so cool to know more about it. We live in Sweden.
