Mystery Photo #95: Mr. Earl Askew

A recurring source of confusion in the Mystery Photo series is whether particular images that share the stamp of the Post Card Shop in Minneapolis and the Penny Arcade in Duluth were shot in Minneapolis or Duluth. Here is another such image.

Who were you, Earl Askew? A conjoined twin with a single name?

Does this look like a match? I think the name could be Askern ... more hits on Ancestry.

That's not a match, but the next comment will clear up some confusion about the spelling of the name and provide a pretty solid answer to the identity of one of the mystery men in the photo.

(Originally this post had the name spelled as "Arkerv." The guy in the comparison photo in the previous comment is Earl Askren. Gina speculated maybe the correct spelling might by "Askern." All of those appear to be wrong in the face of the evidence shown in the next comment.)

I believe this is the mystery photo dude ... signature looks the same. He died in 1929.
