As a hometown-absorbed Duluthian, this has me wondering if there is any evidence of Prince ever visiting here. I don’t remember any concerts or even an “I saw him at Young at Heart Records once in 1982” anecdote. But I like to imagine there was at least one motorcycle ride up the North Shore in which the Purple One passed through the Zenith City and smirked at the lift bridge.
I heard a colleague today who said she knew something about a cabin or some such on Island Lake (I think) that Prince frequented. She said she saw a limo there with his unpronounceable symbol a few times, though she never saw the man himself, so maybe that counts as a Duluth near sighting?
Enger Tower will be lit up purple tonight in his memory.

Surreal, foggy, purple scene up at Enger Tower tonight.
