West Duluth Pizza Hut

So I’m on the way home two weeks ago and sitting at the traffic light in on Central and Grand thinking I’m having some strange wish sandwich, déjà vu flashback episode. I know the post-traumatic Pizza Hut syndrome can be resurgent, but I swear they took the sign down months ago. Am I crazy?

They put a brand new sign up about a month or so ago. I drove for them on weekends when they were closing and was told they planned to reopen it eventually. They closed and haven't heard anything since.

I hope they make it back. My wife said the sign is a newer version of their logo.

While reporting that a new Pizza Hut Wing Street will be opening at the BlueStone development on Woodland Avenue, the Duluth News Tribune, notes the Pizza Hut in West Duluth "has been closed for remodeling" and "will reopen in about a month, also with the Wing Street format." This is according to Doug Prickett, director of franchise operations for the Texas-based company.

This is stellar news Paul but what is a 'Wing Street' format and will it be a fit for West Duluth?
We don't have a lot of college students round here.

wings

I think it just means that in addition to pizza to place will deliver wings. The website renders the name as one word: WingStreet. I think it will fit in exactly the same as a regular Pizza Hut.

Because the world is full of coincidences, I just came across this 2009 photo.

So, the sign on the Pizza Hut building can be confirmed to be different, though the changes are pretty subtle. The word "delivery" is gone, but also note the yellow line under the hut (or hat or whatever that is) and the green dot above the letter "I" changed to white.

Or it might be the same sign with two parts removed and the green dot painted white.
