Anyone around here see this last night?

Video from an Iowa sheriff’s deputy’s dashboard camera, about 10 p.m. Wednesday.

The meteor / fireball was also captured on a webcam at UW-Madison.

And it was picked up on radar out of La Crosse. Cool.

All of those views are from a few hundred miles to the south, so I’m not sure if it was even possible to see it up here. Did anyone?

Nah– I think we are were too far north as there were reports of this sighting in Kansas. I was online chatting with some friends in LaCrosse when the “WTF?!?!” came through. They also heard a “boom”. Probably a sonic boom. Then friends in Madison chirped in that they saw it to.

    I suspected aliens. Also: zombies.

Part of me wishes I saw that, and part of me fears I would have thought the end was near and done something drastic.

I’ve seen fireballs before, but never anything as bright and close as this one. About 10 years ago I saw one that broke into several pieces and went in different directions.
