Halloween Dance and Silent Auction
This Halloween Dance and Silent Auction fundraiser features the Ken Sievers Family and Friends Band. The silent auction will include a variety of items. Payment by cash or local check will be accepted. There will be a costume contest with prizes. BYOB. The suggested donation at the door is $8. Proceeds from the event go to the general fund of Lotus Temple, which donates to the Daughters of the Nile Foundation benefitting the patients at Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Mitch McVicker's concert is a little bit Mark Twain meets MacGyver. His quirky and inventive approach includes insightful song lyrics, unconventional instruments and profound storytelling. His concert connects the everyday with the otherworldly. The Gospel Vagabonds are a new band from Duluth/Superior featuring a mix of rock, folk, gospel and blues.

A paranormal investigator has rented the Merryweather Inn for the season to research the strange occurrences that happen at the famously haunted inn and invites you to a large dancing party and dinner because of your experiences with the paranormal. Winterers’ Gathering and Arctic Film Festival
The Winterers’ Gathering and Arctic Film Festival celebrates the crafts, customs, history and stories that have been inspired by winter. Come to North House Folk School for a weekend packed with winter-centric events including an Arctic Film Fest, winter tent camp, a great gear and ski sale, contra dancing, a chili feed, slam poetry and more. The St. Scholastica Jazz Band and the North Shore Big Band present an evening of swing dancing in the Benedictine Commons. Instructors from North Shore Ballroom will provide lessons for the first half hour, then the dance floor will be open until 9 p.m. Come and dance the night away! Celebrate Jolabokaflod at Duluth Public Library
Celebrate winter reading and the gifting season with Jolabokaflod at the Main Library! Jolabokaflod is an Icelandic word (meaning holiday book flood) and tradition that originated during World War II. Paper was one of the few unrationed commodities during the war, making books one of the few gifts available during the winter holidays. Every year, faculty, students and guest choreographers offer a variety of dance styles and interpretations around a chosen theme to showcase the talent of the University of Duluth Minnesota's dance community. This annual holiday classic with a Duluth twist features the Minnesota Ballet's professional and student dancers performing with a live orchestra playing the Tchaikovsky score. Performances run Dec. 8-10. Synopsis: While on a holiday trip, young Clara has an enchanting dream of her beloved nutcracker doll coming to life.
