Postcard from the Arthur M. Clure Public Marine Terminal

This postcard was mailed on Dec. 14, 1971 — 50 years ago today. Mrs. W. A. Gramley of Wheaton, Ill. was the recipient. The sender’s name looks something like Evie.

The caption reads:

Duluth, Minnesota
Westerly terminus of the St. Lawrence Seaway. The Arthur M. Clure Public Marine Terminal is shown in the foreground.

The written message is:

Hi.

Your box came intact in this a.m. mail — that’s really fast! Just thought I’d let you know. Haven’t and won’t open it, though, until X-mas. Thanks.

I got our artificial tree up last night and it took me (all alone) 5-1/2 hours!! I’m still beat, and sore muscles ache everywhere. It began to snow during the night and still is today — just a gentle but steady snowfall. I guess over several inches have fallen.

Sounds like you really got busy on those cute rings. Mine are still sitting — made other things with mud rooms [mushrooms?] — centerpieces, objects and art, etc. but hope to get at the rings soon.
