Park Point Cabin, revisited

While out hiking with The Big E and our daughter this weekend he reminded us both there used to be cabins on Park Point. Does anyone know when they were torn down?

The short answer to your question is the last one was removed on Nov. 30, 2010.

A longer answer is in the post “Duluth’s Pine Knot Cabin on Minnesota Point – Everything you wanted to know about its removal, history, etc.

Thank you! (I searched, but didn’t search for Pine Knot Cabin)

There were several cabins way down past the airport. In the 1960’s a bunch of us (teens) who lived on the Point often used to go down there, open a cabin and party. Fun times.

There was a fire (maybe late ’60s/early ’70s?) that erased what hadn’t already rotted away, except the Pine Knot which was removed in 2010.

I always thought it would be cool to have a weekend getaway down there.
