Electrician Recommendation?

At the risk of incurring Herzog’s ire regarding boring posts (as recently and memorably recorded in ‘The Current’ recent posting), can anyone recommend a good electrician, or steer me away from a bad one?

P.S. Herzog, I will try harder next time to not be boring, I promise. I just don’t want my house to burn down with faulty wiring, etc.

That was wrong of me to say that, and during my meditation ritual yesterday, realized I should've instead worded... "the chipolte blog was the most exciting since,..." Granted that's probably not true either. I don't know which one was the most exciting but the Sasquatch race was a contender. Maybe a vote. So I apologize, as the recent thread on the white couch has redeeming value too. It leaves much to the imagination.

And emmadogs, old knob and tube wiring is relatively stabile as long as you aren't running too much current through it, faulty wiring is another story. Electricians, meh.

In other news, a friend was telling me she met a nice lady from Chicago at the library yesterday who moved here to intervene with her son who had become addicted to synthetic marijuana. A once upstanding citizen, he was losing ground fast to the stuff, but I think is doing better now. She said she is "glad Carlson is out of business."

Okay back to electricians.

I recently had Scott Twining of Twining Electric perform some work at our business. His prices were reasonable and he completed the work on schedule and budget, which is about as good as it gets.

After getting a diagnosis from Electric Systems that we didn't agree with (mostly because they wanted to just start ripping up walls to find a broken wire) we were able to get Scott Foro from Twining Electric and were extremely happy with him. We were out of power on our main level of our older house over the Thanksgiving holiday last year due to some shotty knob and tube wire connections and Scott had the proper tools and patience to locate the disconnected wires inside a wall within about an inch of where it had come apart. A minor hole and cover and all was good again with NO DEMO work needed. I'll recommend them to everyone in the future.

Benson Electric in Superior has done dozens of jobs for us and I see their trucks at many commercial projects. Kyle is usually the electrician we get and he is talented, polite, clean and efficient.

We have been very happy with the work of Park Electric. They show up when they say they will, do excellent work, and leave the place cleaner than they found it. And they are really pleasant to work with.

I'm really interested to read people relating stories of electricians coming and performing work. When we call electricians (three or four different ones to date), they come out, nod knowingly and make occasional interested comments as we show them what we want done, and then they disappear and don't return our calls, let alone submit a bid.
