PDD users are a quick lot. Yes, Suzy, that’s the Duluth Water Pumping Station on Congdon Blvd just before Lakewood Road.

AKA “the Red Castle,” visits to which I used to use as a carrot to get our kids to refrain from freaking out when I ran with them in the jogger.

    It’s a very cool building.

Again with the train tracks here, but the railroad had a spur that serviced this building, does anyone know why? Did it run on a lot of coal, or was it something else long ago?

It probably used coal fired steam pumps.

All I know is that the boys who grew up in French River used to break into this place all the time. Wearing cloaks because D&D does that to a boy.

I once got inside this when I was looking for old records from the water intake for some research. There is an old belt-driven machine shop still inside. Very very cool.
