My gravatar is from at least 15 years ago when I was messing around both with my parents’ scanner (they owned a small-town newspaper) and Photoshop, and ended up with this sort of postorized/sylized version of my own face that I’ve used from then on. I love how freaky I look. I know mine is the best, but go ahead and proceed with your little “competition” regardless. 🙂
I kinda like mine. It’s the mascot we used for the Hotel Coral Essex that I kinda adopted as my own. It’s from a photo that Jason Kokal took and he’s just adorable!
I think the reason the first two rounds were blowouts owes a lot to the fact that some of those Gravatars were almost invisible on high-resolution monitors. Too small with too much detail. There might have been some good ideas going on, but I couldn’t make them out.
The images in this bracket are all much easier to see.
That’s true, Barrett…I think I even bitched about that in the first round.
But oh well, I guess that’s as big as we ever see them, so it might be unfair for some people to get larger, high-resolution pictures for the competition. It would be nice if we could view people’s pictures full-size just by clicking on them…I’ve often wondered what half of them are supposed to be.

I never figured out that Edgeways’ Gravatar is half a plane. I thought it was a dilapidated lighthouse similar to the one on Minnesota Point.

I should note that within about four hours of drudging up the old Ford Taurus issues in the comments above, the muffler rusted off my current vehicle.

What happened to this competition? It’s been nearly 3 weeks since the 3rd round.
The plug-in that allows PDD to do polls was disabled during a malware problem a week ago. We need to reinstall it in order to make the post.
