Bird or Buoy?

So, we were at Park Point on Sunday. It was pretty far away and after a 45 minute walk on the sand we finally realized what it was. Can you tell?

A closeup, definitely not a buoy. It stayed on that piece of ice for 45 minutes before it lifted off and graced the sky with its presence.

Close-up.

I feel patriotic!
Bald Eagle Tired Of Everyone Just Assuming It Supports War
Those of us convinced it was an eagle from the start thought it was strange behavoir for a buoy to fly away like that.
Sorry to other beachgoers we ambushed with our bird/buoy disagreement.
Any of Mike’s ice photos from that stroll you want to add to the comments, mevdev?
Resol,
Those are the only pics he sent. We should ask him for more. I cleared the rights with him earlier today (didn’t want to post without his permission!). I’d love to see the cave photos.
So, is it a buoy?
No, it’s a girl.
Zing!
Well, I for one am very, very proud as a Duluthian that TimK didn’t reply, “No, it’s a gull.”
You guys are punny.
