As an alternative to the President's rally at Amsoil Arena, Duluthians will gather to express thoughts and feelings about issues and wave issue-oriented non-campaign signs. Speakers, artists and musicians expected to perform are Ellie Schoenfeld, Sara Thomsen with the Echoes of Peace Choir, Lyz Jaakola, Gary Boelhower and Stephan Witherspoon. This event is a fundraiser for CHUM and awareness event for the community to learn about poverty, hunger and homelessness in Duluth. Throughout the walk, participants will be provided chalk to write positive messages along the Duluth Lakewalk. Snacks will be provided along with discussion about nutrition and exercise and their relationship to overall wellness. Resources and gift bags will be distributed at the end of the event.

The 26th annual plant sale, organized by the Duluth Garden Flower Society, is held in the Duluth Rose Garden parking lot at Leif Erikson Park. Perennials, annuals, orchids, herbs, native plants, roses, veggie starts and garden treasures will be for sale from 8 to 10 a.m. or until sold out. Bring shopping bags and/or a cart/wagon for hauling.
