Toast to Tails
Lake Superior Zoo hosts Toast to Tails, a tribute to the Roaring '20s. There will be an appetizer buffet, alcohol tastings, music, animal encounters and games. North Shore Ballroom will teach three dances: the Charleston, Swing and Foxtrot. There will also be a Silent Movie/Silent Auction Theater with a popcorn bar and a costume contest with prizes for the winners. Tickets are $45 for zoo members, $50 for non-members and $125 for VIPs.

The Damiano Center, the largest onsite meal provider in Northeast Minnesota, hosts this event featuring appetizers, a cash bar, a silent auction, live music, guest speakers, a dessert auction and more. All proceeds from this event go directly to the Community Kitchen program at the Damiano Center.

UW-Superior's Jazz Band and Big Time Jazz Orchestra are preforming in a special Scholarship Concert. Proceeds from the concert will go toward a scholarship for a UW-Superior music major for excellence in jazz studies. The BTJO/UWS Jazz Scholarship, first established in 2002, is awarded to a UW-Superior music student based on excellence in jazz studies and will be announced at intermission during this the concert. Suggested donation for this concert is $10.

Beats for Change is a fundraiser event that sets out to unite all communities with a memorable evening of live music. This concert aims to raise money and awareness for various humanitarian issues. All proceeds will go to support Red Cross efforts in Haiti and Ethiopia. The Saint Louis County Historical Society and its Veterans Memorial Hall are holding a 5k to honor the memory of Command Sergeant Major John S. Werner. CSM John S. Werner was mayor of the city of Rice Lake, a Boy Scout troopmaster, a mechanic and veteran of more than 40 years and passed away March 25, 2023. The Children's Organ Transplant Association along with the Duluth-Superior community has organized a walk for Roya Snyder, a 1st grader at Lester Park Elementary who recently received a life-saving heart transplant in February. Throughout Roya’s lifetime, she will need numerous follow-up clinic visits, anti-rejection medications and possibly additional transplants. Roya’s heart transplant-related expenses continue to be incurred even though her transplant has already happened. The ALEIA Project presents the Northland 5K for Food Allergy, a chip-timed run/walk event with an out-and-back course that follows the Duluth Lakewalk toward Canal Park with a turn-around point just before the lighthouse. Walk for Animals 2024
Walk for Animals is more than just a walk. There will be vendors and entertainment to enjoy. Food Trucks, balloon twisting, a 360 photo booth, ball drop, a caricature artist, vendors will be at the park.
