A 45-minute spin-bike workout with blacklights, rave gear, a fog machine and glow sticks. Attendees are encouraged to wear white, light, or neon clothing and bring a water bottle.

The Winterers’ Gathering and Arctic Film Festival celebrates the crafts, customs, history and stories that have been inspired by winter. Come to North House Folk School for a weekend packed with winter-centric events including an Arctic Film Fest, winter tent camp, a great gear and ski sale, contra dancing, a chili feed, slam poetry and more. They will also host featured speaker, Tim Cahill, co-founder of Outside Magazine. For more information visit northhouse.org.

The St. Scholastica Jazz Band and the North Shore Big Band present an evening of swing dancing in the Benedictine Commons. Instructors from North Shore Ballroom will provide lessons for the first half hour, then the dance floor will be open until 9 p.m. Come and dance the night away! Tickets are $7 for general admission and free for students pre-K to college.

Every year, faculty, students and guest choreographers offer a variety of dance styles and interpretations around a chosen theme to showcase the talent of the University of Duluth Minnesota's dance community. Full Schedule of Shows: Dec. 1 | 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2 | 2 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. Dec. 3 | 2 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for students or children, $10 for UMD students, and $20 for seniors, UMD faculty, staff and veterans. This annual holiday classic with a Duluth twist features the Minnesota Ballet's professional and student dancers performing with a live orchestra playing the Tchaikovsky score. Performances run Dec. 8-10. Synopsis: While on a holiday trip, young Clara has an enchanting dream of her beloved nutcracker doll coming to life. Kids in second grade and younger are invited to celebrate the New Year at noon instead of midnight. Attendees should drop in anytime between 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for dancing, crafts, snacks and games. Kids can also count down to the noon balloon drop.
