PAVSA launches 856 campaign

Hello PDD Community!  PAVSA would like to announce the start of its month long fund-raising drive, the 856 Campaign. Thank you for letting us share information here today on what we think is a darn important cause in our community.

To tell you more, 1 in 6 women will be the victim of rape or attempted rape in her lifetime. PAVSA is here to provide critically needed support to these women in our community (and girls, men) though services like therapy, support groups, personal advocacy, medical advocacy, legal services, and more — all of which are free and confidential.

Sustaining these programs is PAVSA’s biggest challenge each year, and the 856 Campaign was designed to help meet that challenge. PAVSA is asking community members to support survivors in this region with a donation, with a goal of obtaining 856 individual donations for each of the 856 individuals who receive PAVSA services in a given year.

Thank you for tuning in to the issue of sexual violence in our community and for your support for this campaign.  Keep your eyes peeled for ways to get involved, and check your feed as campaign news will be popping up throughout July.  Thank you so much for your support now and always, together we can keep our region a healthy and safe place for all!

The 856 Campaign stands in solidarity with victims of the Solstice Flood. PAVSA sends much love to our community at this time.
