Homegrown Banners

Hey kids, we know you’ve got ’em, and we want to see ’em. Turn your best Homegrown photos into PDD banners. We’ll try to rotate Homegrown-specific banners during the Homegrown Festival. Same rules apply, the image must be 960 pixels wide by 167 pixels high. Don’t stretch or squish the image to make it fit, that always looks bad. The Perfect Duluth Day logo will be added by PDD’s art department. Or, if you’d like, you can add it.

E-mail if you want the Photoshop template with the logo

E-mail your banners to [email protected], and we’ll start organizing them.

Also, a reminder, the banners go up on Flickr eventually. If anybody wants to add info about their shots in the Flickr comments, that would be cool.

I was going to give you crap about not posting the banners I sent a few weeks ago and then asking for more, but as I see they're now live I'll keep that judgement to myself and once again compliment the PDD team on doing such a fine job.

Sam,
Yeah, sorry. Indeed, your banners weren't showing up there for awhile, and I just realized that last night. I'm not sure, but I think it had to do with the switching of servers and other glitches. Or that's my excuse anyway...

What's the proper way to size them without squishing them? I tried once to do some banners and just resized to the proper pixels with my HP printer software. Needless to say it looked all squished and crappy.

You need to crop them, not resize them.
