Event Navigation

UMD Theatre 2004 Alum and wheelchair user Kaleb Anderson will be the guest ribbon cutter at UMD Theatre’s Box Office Ribbon Cutting, signifying its Americans with Disabilities Act compliance. The ceremony is hosted by the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce.

There will be brief presentations by the new chamber president Matt Baumgartner, the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences dean Jeremy Youde, and UMD Theatre Department head Mark Harvey. They will be joined by chamber staff members and ambassadors, and CAHSS Dean’s Advisory Board.

In addition to the recent ADA-compliant box office renovation, UMD Theatre’s mainstage Marshall Performing Arts Center became fully ADA compliant for its patrons approximately five years ago.

Immediately following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, UMD Theatre alum Kaleb Anderson will hold a “Disability in the Arts” seminar at 11:30 a.m. on the mainstage of MPAC.
