Gary-New Duluth Memorial Day Ceremony
The Gary-New Duluth Memorial Day Ceremony honors the sacrifice of veterans from the Duluth's far western communities -- Riverside, Smithville, Morgan Park, Gary-New Duluth, Fond du Lac and the Wisconsin village of Oliver -- who gave their lives in service to their country. Carmody Irish Pub owner Eddie Gleeson, and other supporters of Janet Kennedy's run for the St. Louis County Board District 3 seat, host this campaign fundraising event. Kennedy will be sharing her seven principles and priorities she intends to bring to the county commissioner role, “building a stronger and more effective governing body that truly represents and serves the interests of everyone in the community.” Food from the Chow Hall food truck will be available.

In recognition of Treatment Court Month, the St. Louis County Treatment Courts will be holding a combined talent and art show for program participants and team members to showcase their accomplishments and skills in the community. This event is to celebrate the team behind the success behind the 6th Judicial District Treatment Courts. Before the event, a joint Mental Health Court and Duluth Drug Court graduation will be held for eligible participants at 10:30 a.m.

The Palestine Solidarity Working Group and the Twin Ports Democratic Socialists of America hosting this screening of the documentary Boycott. The film follows the legal battles of three American workers whose political beliefs are pitted against their employment. Their experiences expose the state legislation that limits free speech across the United States in favor of supporting the government of Israel at all costs. The event begins with a social hour at 6 p.m. and the film screening begins at 7.

Free Palestine Rally and March
The Free Palestine Rally and March at Duluth City Hall will feature speeches, a march to the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (remaining outside only) and then returning to city hall for music and messages of solidarity. One goal of this protest and march is to support the uncommitted delegates inside the DFL Convention at the DECC as they try to pass resolutions in favor of a ceasefire in Gaza. Volunteers from Duluth Moms Demand Action are organizing a family-friendly community event for Wear Orange Weekend. The goal is to raise awareness about gun violence in Duluth. There will be a few speakers and photos followed by an inaugural walk across the Aerial Lift Bridge in solidarity with survivors. Participants are asked to wear orange.
