A MNsure-certified navigator is available every Thursday in the Partnership Center of the library to provide free assistance using MNsure to sign up for health insurance. No appointment is necessary. For enrollment, bring information about household income, Social Security numbers for every person applying and any information about health insurance offered through work. Exploring Genre: Speculative Fiction & Indigenous Futurisms
Local author Carter Meland presents on the elements of world-building, character development and plot construction that make speculative genres unique. Participants gain an understanding of the relationship between Indigenous and Afro-Futurism, as well as speculative fiction and the transformative power of those stories.

The Lake Superior Writers will host a write-in for National Novel Writing Month. This write-in is open to both seasoned writers and those new to NaNoWriMo. Quiet work spaces will be available, as well as coffee and camaraderie with fellow writers. Suitable for ages 13 plus.
