The Children's Organ Transplant Association along with the Duluth-Superior community has organized a walk for Roya Snyder, a 1st grader at Lester Park Elementary who recently received a life-saving heart transplant in February. Throughout Roya’s lifetime, she will need numerous follow-up clinic visits, anti-rejection medications and possibly additional transplants. Roya’s heart transplant-related expenses continue to be incurred even though her transplant has already happened. The ALEIA Project presents the Northland 5K for Food Allergy, a chip-timed run/walk event with an out-and-back course that follows the Duluth Lakewalk toward Canal Park with a turn-around point just before the lighthouse. Whipper Snapper Races for Kids
The Whipper Snapper kids' races are held each year in Duluth’s Bayfront Festival Park on Grandma’s Marathon weekend. These races are free and open to children age 14 and under. The 30th annual William A. Irvin 5K kicks off a weekend of running events and festivities surrounding Grandma’s Marathon. The 3.1-mile course starts and finishes near the William A. Irvin ore boat located next to the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center. The Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon is a 13.1-mile race held in conjunction with Grandma's Marathon. With rolling hills and a net downhill elevation, the racecourse starts north of Duluth and runs along Scenic Highway 61, hugging the shores of Lake Superior before taking participants through the heart of Downtown Duluth and finishing in historic Canal Park. The 48th annual Grandma's Marathon is a 26.2-mile race on scenic Highway 61 along the north shore of Lake Superior. It begins just outside of Two Harbors and finishes in Duluth's Canal Park. The Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon begins at 6:15 a.m. on the edge of Duluth's city limits and follows the regular marathon course through the heart of Duluth. The full marathon starts at 7:45 a.m. The winner should cross the finish line around 10 a.m.

North Shore Bike Ride
The Gitchi-Gami Trail Association presents its 24th annual North Shore Bike Ride, a celebration of the Gitchi-Gami State Trail. Fully supported rides in several length options are available (8, 28, 34 or 55 miles). Kids registrations are free with a paid adult and t-shirts are free. Lake Superior Harvest Festival 2024
Lake Superior Sustainable Farming Association's 30th annual Harvest Festival is a family-centered event featuring a huge farmers market showcasing the region's agricultural bounty. The event also includes a food court, live music, an energy fair, crafts and more. Admission is free, but there is a suggested donation of $5 per person or $10 per family.

Cedar and Stone Nordic Sauna host communal guided sauna sessions and a natural cold plunge. Each session is an hour and 15 minutes. Some session times may be sold out. Check out the pubic session schedule at the Cedar and Stone Nordic Sauna website. Tickets for adult sessions are $53.35 per person and children under age 12 are free.
