Art Camp: Fantastic Flora and Fauna with Kristina Estell
Event Navigation
Participants in this art camp geared for ages 6-12 will explore the principles and elements of design through techniques in drawing, collage, sculpting and painting.
Inspired by the artwork of Chiaozza — the collaborative duo of Brooklyn-based artists Adam Frezza and Terri Chiao — campers will work from plants and animals as drawing subjects and use collage techniques to create whimsical and abstract mixed-media collages. Campers will work off their collages to create 3-D form sculptures using papier mâché and will learn and practice how to create textures and mix paint colors to bring their sculptures to life.
The camp runs July 12-16 from 9 a.m. to noon and is instructed by Kristina Estell. The cost of the sessions is $150 for Duluth Art Institute members and $200 for nonmembers. To learn more or register visit duluthartinstitute.org.
The Duluth Art Institute is following CDC Covid-19 guidelines, as well as state and local protocols. Physical distancing measures are practiced in all indoor spaces. Masks are required when indoors.
