Art Camp: Plaster Sculpture Wild Animals with Julia Jaakola
Event Navigation
The natural areas in North America and the animals living wild within them serve as the inspiration for the art projects in this class. Campers ages 6-10 use plaster gauze to form an animal, reptile, or fish from photographic images. After creating and painting a unique sculpture, campers create a 2D painting using watercolor paint and pastels to illustrate the natural environment that the life form lives in. Explore the natural world through art and expand your technical sculpting and painting skills through hands on art making.
The camp runs July 5-9 from 1 to 4 p.m. and is instructed by Julia Jaakola. The cost of the sessions is $150 for Duluth Art Institute members and $200 for nonmembers. To learn more or register, visit duluthartinstitute.org.
The Duluth Art Institute is following Center for Disease and Control Covid-19 guidelines, as well as state and local protocols. Physical distancing measures are practiced in all indoor spaces. Masks are required when indoors.
