Mystery Photos: Mr. and Mrs. Peter Anderson

Someone was kind enough to write the names of these love birds on their photos and keep them together. But who are Mr. and Mrs. Peter Anderson?

By the logo on the photo we know Mrs. Anderson’s photographer was Christian L. Skage, whose studio at 323 W. Superior St. is circa 1895 according to the Minnesota Historical Society’s Directory of Photographers.

And we know that Mr. Anderson’s photographer is Lars Linden, the fiery Swede who had a studio at 1619 W. Superior St. in Duluth and allegedly enjoyed intoxicating liquors in excess.

Peter Anderson is a common name, and his bride is identified only as “Mrs.,” so that makes finding info about them tricky, but no one said mysteries are supposed to be easy.

There's not much to go on, but I can say that there were only four Peter Andersons who got married in St. Louis County between 1890 and 1910. The brides' names were Emma, Louise, Elina and Augusta. So it's possible that she is one of those.
