Dead Chipmunk Floats By
Spent all day setting up the underwater camera to get the mergansers diving in the area, but they were pretty uncooperative. Then this dead chipmunk floated by, so the day wasn’t a total waste haha. Anyway you can see what I’d wager is a talon wound on its side. Chipmunks live (and die I guess) all along the water’s edge, I frequently hear their signature chirping. Lots of vegetal flotsam in the water today too.
I was about to say nice, that’s fucking disgusting, but then I saw his lifeless body floating gracefully in the abyss and decided there was a certain beauty to it.
Or it could be a her, even more beautiful yet…
Having just lived with a chipmunk in my fireplace for two days, I don’t find it disgusting at all. It almost looks like he/she is flying. There ought to be some ballet music along with it.
The lake looks so blue at first. Beautiful!
