XC Ski Hartley!

The XC Ski trails in Hartley Park are in top shape — which makes now a great time to get to Hartley Park and Nature Center for some cross-country skiing. Bring your own equipment or rent ours. Wednesday night, Feb. 9, from 7-8:30 pm, join members of the Duluth XC Ski Club for an evening headlamp ski on Hartley’s trails. Warm beverages will be provided in the Nature Center. Families are invited!

Saturday evening after 10PM I could hear snomobiles in the general vicinity of Hartley.  Sunday morning proved my hunch true: internal combustion sleds had indeed ridden over several of the hiking trails west of the ski trails.  Not sure if there had been any snomo tracks in the ski trails area.

I saw them yesterday (tracks that is) going across the swamp and up the climb to the pines, through the pines, and down the tunnel trail. Takes nerve and lack of brains to do such.
