Nellie Bird, longtime owner of Les Bird’s Bar in South Superior, died Nov. 27. She was 90.
Nellie felt that everyone who came into her bar was a friend. The feeling was mutual.
Profile from the Superior Telegram:
“Wisconsin bar celebrates 50 years“

She was pretty funny. I got to set up a photo shoot with her. She was embarrassed that the lights and camera were pointed at her while there were people in the bar, but you could tell she was kinda lovin’ it too.

Too bad. Made one hell of a cocktail. All the good ones are gone.
Doesn’t Les Bird’s have a no swearing policy?
It’s the bar “where ladies and gentlemen are served by ladies and gentlemen.”
Didn’t Jeff Bridges play there recently?
