Never let a good crisis go to waste…

Hi everyone! Remember me? As a good capitalist, I have decided to take the opportunity of the Love/Hate-Fest between Craig and Starfire to promote the latest episode of the northland’s premier local podcast, DANNY DOES DULUTH. But don’t worry, everyone’s favorite Troll will not make this a regular thing as I promised a year or so ago.

DANNY DOES DULUTH
EPISODE 116-Why is a 40 Year Old Doing a Show on College Radio Anyway?
Is there anything better then a good internet feud? It really is great, huh? In this episode we tackle a virtual battle that has heated up significantly over the last week or so. Fun, fun stuff in this full-length show! On today’s episode:
-Anything better then a good internet fight?
-A visit from the 40 Year Old Man Who Wants To Be Called Starfire
-Another edition of Craig’s Corner
-Ashley spazes out

  1. There is not comparison.

I think Mr. Lunt doesn’t actually introduce himself as Starfire nor does he advise people to call him that.

You are very disrespectful to someone on their own site. Go somewhere else to make divisive disrespectful comments.

Let’s see Craig do anything but tear people down. Be a self starter and do something other than being a hater.

Radio used to play music from bands that play in the city that you live. Now it is all clear-channel crap.

  2. Danny,

Really, is it just that you’re so hated by most people that your way of dealing with it is to act like you LOVE being hated, effectively lessening the blow?

Starfire is called that because that was the DJ name he used back when he ran a pirate radio station. He’s not asking people to call him by that name, they just do. It’s a nickname.

Not sure what his age has to do with anything, but the ageism you’re displaying is shameful. This is a person who has played an integral part of the Duluth arts community. He founded the Homegrown Festival, for crying out loud. And now he’s hosting a local-music show to promote the efforts of all the hardworking local bands in the area.

The kind of stuff you do isn’t fair criticism or smart satire — you’re just making fun of people, and it’s not serving any purpose but to inflate your own ego.

  3. The whole premise seems kind of, well, inane if you ask me. How old are you anyway?

  8. Danny,

Please, please, please just stay away from PDD. You’re comments are inane and immature. Your whole premise is, well, dumb and at an 8th grade level of intellect. No one here listens to your “show”. You do not contribute anything interesting or enlightening, ever. Your schtick is just plain lame. And, you are not humorous…one. little. bit.

Please heed these words, Danny. PLease examine your motivations and actions.

    Danny | Apr 3, 2009 | New Comment
  10. Actually, I listened to it today. I thought it was funny.

And as 8th grade level of intellect goes, well…

    “You’re comments ”

    Proper usage owns you, apparently.

  12. Man, PDD sure gets gross sometimes lately thanks to 3 or 4 people. Thanks for ruining a great thing (you know who you are).

  14. I like to call it the grouch complex. You see there is a character on Sesame Street called Oscar the Grouch. Oscar points his finger at all things either mistaken and or bad. The good thing for Oscar is that pointing his finger draws attention away from himself(at least to the non-enlightend). This smoke screen creates a word(in Oscars case a garbage can) that he lives in and rairly sees the light of day.

Correct me if I am wrong but it seems as though the issue is in the approach of this Craig and this Danny dude. Who obviously thinks age is something that should indicate local music knowledge.

Why cant we get along and put our energy into the music. Thats what this is all about isnt it.

And if age is the issue then I think Craig and danny should get a ticket for the stereo type train and leave the area.

    Peace to the streets

  16. People. I’ve listened to a few of Danny’s broadcasts. Not worth your time. And it’s 30 minutes you can never get back again. Don’t.

  17. Everyone just needs to understand this is our city, our town, our lives. Lets make it interesting by investing in it, in what we have and in the great thing we are all investing in. It is the Northland… Duluth, Superior, the Range, the Northshore, the Southshore, UMD, UWS, CSS, NSCC, LSC, and this great community we have. Why not look at what we have to offer each other and the great advantage we have over many, by living in such a great land, by such a great asset that is Lake Superior. This area is poised for great growth and prosperity for many many years to come and we sit and try to dirty it with such irrelevant rhetoric as this. Look at what got us here and where we are headed, we all are invested and the prospective is bright. Join Hands.

  18. Let’s have a “We are the world”-type singalong!

    We are Du-luuuth
    We are Supeeer-eee-oor
We are the ones who make a brighter day
    So let’s start giving
    There’s a choice we’re making
    We’re saving our own lives
    It’s true we’ll make a better day
    Just you and me

  20. Danny, you should do a podcast along the lines of “Why is a 35 year old man sitting in his basement talking to, and at times even arguing with, himself in several different voices? It strikes me as especially bizarro when you ask yourself a question in one voice, then answer your own question in another voice.

  23. Ahhh, Moderation finally comes to PDD.

Let me get this quip in:

This show seems like a childish stunt for attention. Berating someone that harbors no ill will is not nice.

  24. As if Danny needed material to fart out another one of his ventriloquism-for-dummies podcasts. Someone posts a blog comment somewhere, and he’s in front of the microphone within 24 hours. He’s more vigilant than Batman, only slovenly and unemployed.

Here’s a question: if Danny made a podcast in the forest, would anybody download it?

  26. Danny, you get a gold star. We know you get off on attention, even negative attention, so it’s not surprising you would not delete any of the comments posted here. Once again, I would advise anyone even mildly tempted to listen to Danny babble in various voices for half an hour a shot on his podcast not to do so unless they have a high tolerance for boredom. I do like that Duluth song in the beginning, though.

  30. There are a lot of non-college age dj’s on KUMD. John Bushey’s Dylan Hour, The folk migrations djs, formerly John Ziegler, Christine Dean, and the list goes on and on. Why does Danny have such a hard-on for Scott? It’s embarassing, Danny. You should get some hobbies other than this, because I don’t even know you, but you seem rude.
