Zeitgeist Minnesota Media Arts School: Documentary Film Production

Zeitgeist Minnesota Media Arts School, in partnership with the Minnesota Discovery Center, is for filmmakers, graphic designers, multimedia artists and theatrical artists seeking to learn, work, create and connect. Documentary Film Production classes meet on Monday nights from 6:30 to 9 p.m., Oct. 3 to Nov. 21.

The class will explore the many different types of documentaries and build the basic technical skills to create nonfiction films, including selecting topics based on available resources, pre-production, lighting, sound recording, cinematography, interviewing, finding the story, and editing. Over the course of the workshop, participants will each create their own short documentaries (maximum 10 minutes) and will leave the course with the skills and experience to make more.
