The Whipper Snapper kids’ races are held each year in Duluth’s Bayfront Festival Park on Grandma’s Marathon weekend. These races are free and open to children age 14 and under. All participants receive a ribbon at the completion of the race.
The free short-distance races are a way to introduce kids to running or keep the fire burning bright for future marathon finishers.
Age Groups and Distances
4 and under — 1/8 Mile
5-6 — 1/8 mile
7-8 — 1/4 mile
9-10 — 1/4 mile
11-12 — 1/2 mile
13-14 — 1/2 mile
