Sibshops
Sibshops is a special program designed to help kids who have a sibling with chronic health, mental health or developmental needs. This event is for children ages 8-13. It features a series of fun activities and the opportunity to connect with others experienced in working with people who have disabilities. The Sibshops model mixes information and discussion activities with games designed to be unique and appealing to a wide ability range. Registration is required. Lunch will be provided.

The Duluth Public Library hosts a Disability Visibility Fair at the Main Library. The day’s highlights include over a dozen local organizations to share information on disability and accessibility, a community art project facilitated by CHOICE Unlimited, a community book discussion, and talk by local musician and disability culture advocate, Gaelynn Lea. Justice North, formerly Legal Aid Service of Northeastern Minnesota, presents the annual family-friendly Law Day 5K run/walk. The 5K begins and ends at the Duluth East High School parking lot. Ecstatic dance is free-form movement inspired by music. The Ecstatic Dance Duluth group holds dances on the second Friday and last Sunday of each month. The Children's Organ Transplant Association along with the Duluth-Superior community has organized a walk for Roya Snyder, a 1st grader at Lester Park Elementary who recently received a life-saving heart transplant in February. Throughout Roya’s lifetime, she will need numerous follow-up clinic visits, anti-rejection medications and possibly additional transplants. Roya’s heart transplant-related expenses continue to be incurred even though her transplant has already happened. Whipper Snapper Races for Kids
The Whipper Snapper kids' races are held each year in Duluth’s Bayfront Festival Park on Grandma’s Marathon weekend. These races are free and open to children age 14 and under.
