Red Bull Heavy Metal

Jan 16, 2022, 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Event Navigation

Red Bull Heavy Metal is a single-day snowboard contest that features a variety of unique obstacles and lines, compiled in one tight space to showcase elite street riding. Snowboarders will use the natural rails, drops, gaps and banks of Duluth’s iconic Cascade Park. Viewing is free and open to the public.

The course will feature three distinct zones:

The Tower: This is the contest’s biggest zone for jumps and airtime, with potential for riders to blast out of the tower window with a 15-to-20-foot drop, and over the walls surrounding the massive structure.

The Playground: This is the contest’s technical zone: Down bars, transfers, trees, tables and lots of options for riders to show off their personal style.

The Metal: The contest’s heaviest zone, including the infamous kink rail, stairs, closeout handrails and an abundance of lines for the brave of heart.
