Outdoor Painters of Minnesota and the Great Lakes Academy of Fine Art have teamed up again to coordinate a weekend of paint-outs around Duluth, with a plein air workshop and reception/sale at GLAFA on Sunday.
The full schedule is below for all three days.

Friday, July 22:
4-10 p.m.: Evening artist social and nocturnal paint-out around Canal Park. Artist Social venue TBD.
Saturday, July 23:
9 a.m.: Morning paint-out at Brighton Beach and Lester River Park. To paint lakeside, park in the Brighton Beach rest area or along Brighton Beach Road. To paint near Lester River, take 60th Street from Highway 61 to Superior Street, turn right on Superior to cross the river and turn left on Lester River Road. The parking area is on your left.
12-1: Lunch in Lincoln Park at OMC or the sandwich shop.
1:30: Afternoon paint-out at Spirit Mountain Ski Area or Thompson Hill Scenic Overlook at the I-35 rest area on the other side of the highway. Take the Skyline Parkway exit off I-35.
Sunday, July 24:
9-12 a.m.: Morning paint-out at GLAFA, 810 W. 3rd St, Duluth MN 55806, at lookout behind the old church.
A morning Member Workshop on “The Structure of Trees” with 3rd year GLAFA student Nelia Harper. Participation is free for OPM members, $25 for nonmembers. A separate sign-up form is published on OPM’s web site.
12-1 p.m.: Picnic BYO/takeout lunch.
1-4 p.m.: Afternoon paint-out at or near GLAFA. The neighborhood offers dramatic views and interesting architectural elements.
5-7 p.m.: Artist Reception & Painting Sale at GLAFA, within paintings displayed on their studio easels. Painting sales handled by GLAFA @30% commission.
