Duluth Folk School and a small cohort of like-minded people gather for one-on-one conversations. “Slow Friending” is a calmer and slightly slower variation of “Speed Friending” events. Unlike Speed Friending, this event requires preregistration and has a capped attendee limit. It also requires a donation to support Duluth Folk School.

UMD Large Lakes Observatory's Research Vessel the R/V Blue Heron hosts "Science on Deck". The boat will be tied-up at Pier B Resort we will be open for tours. Crew, scientists and students will meet with touring guests describing equipment, lake research, plus how the vessel operates and functions while out on the great lakes. The featured scientist is Cody Sheik who presents onboard at 1:30 p.m.
