Veterans Memorial Hall, a program of the St. Louis County Historical Society, presents its next event in the History in a Pint series. Court Storey will tell the story of his uncle Henry A. Courtney’s life and heroics while serving in the United States Marine Corps during World War II.

Major Courtney was posthumously awarded the nation’s highest honor for valor above and beyond the call of duty. He was bestowed the Medal of Honor for gallantry displayed during action on Okinawa Shima, Ryukyu Islands on May 14 and 15, 1945.

The History in a Pint series features the stories of veterans and their experiences serving in the military. Audience members can enjoy a pint of beer or two from local brewers during the presentations.

Admission is free; donations are welcome. There is a cash bar. Parking is available behind the Duluth Depot complex. Follow signage for the North Shore Scenic Railway parking, accessible from Fourth Avenue West.
