Thu, Jan 11, 6:30 pm | Free | Dovetail Café & Marketplace

Event Navigation

Dr. Otto Johnson will discuss big data and some amazing discoveries in human healthcare. In the 20 years since the Human Genome Project first sequenced the human genome, exploratory studies at every level of biology, from DNA on up, have vastly expanded available data. Coupling these data with advances in High Performance Computing and new quantitative methods has led to massive growth in biological discoveries associated with human disease. Such discoveries are now making their way into the clinic. In this discussion we will review these remarkable advances in discoveries about human biology and their implications for the future of human health. This event is open to all.
