Book Reading and Tarot Workshop

Zenith Bookstore presents this Tarot-infused event with authors Cassandra Snow and Siri Vincent Plouff, together with local witch Carolyn Kerns. Snow and Plouff will present their new book Lessons From the Empress: A Tarot Workbook for Self-Care and Creative Growth. They will then be joined with Kerns to lead a tarot workshop.

Lessons from the Empress is a tarot workbook that is all about finding a method of self expression. This workshop is a gateway not only for learning the basics of tarot, but for learning about how to harness the tarot’s powerful symbolism for a creative life.

Cassandra Snow is a three-time Weiser author, having previously penned Queering the Tarot and Queering Your Craft: Witchcraft From the Margins. Snow is a tarot reader and teacher who has taught students how to read cards in their own unique, personalized way everywhere from college campuses to burlesque studios.

Siri Vincent Plouff is a Nordic witch, writer, teacher, professional rune and tarot reader, and host of the Heathen’s Journey Podcast. The podcast is dedicated to creating space to learn about heathenry from an antiracist, queer perspective. Vincent Plouff also teaches a wide variety of classes frequently — from classes about witchcraft, to classes on runes. The two signature courses are the Witchcraft Immersion and Radical Runes.

Carolyn Kerns, known locally as “The Northwoods Witch,” is a priestess and a witch. She attended seminary and holds an MDiv. She is a legal officiant, and a former chaplain and teacher. Now she focuses her energies on offering spiritual care, supporting folks in their unique journey to the sacred, and social justice organizing and activism.
