Right at the top of our list of best videos from the year of the pandemic is a montage of some of the various musicians, artists and jokers who entertained with livestreams and other productions during what was largely a year of avoiding in-person interactions. But 2020 still had a crop of the usual stuff that makes it into our annual compilation — namely stunts, crashes, wildlife encounters and sweet music videos.
Looking back at what Duluthians documented on video in 2019, we find the usual themes. The lake made numerous appearances, whether liquid and moving or frozen solid. We saw lots of music videos, parodies, spur-of-the-moment happenings, and some weird experimentation. Below are our picks for the standout videos of 2019.
We come to the close of another year, and look back on some of our favorite videos that were posted on PDD. It really does get harder and harder to choose favorites with so much variety and quality these days. But we’ve looked through the music videos, the drone videos, the extreme sports videos, the travelogues, the absurd experiments, and we’ve got twelve here that feel like a pretty good summary of 2018 in Duluth. Among the 250+ videos that landed on PDD in 2016, we’ve chosen 17 to feature as “the best.” From music videos and aerial waterfall footage to everything in between, here’s how people amused themselves with cameras in Duluth this year.
As the quantity and quality of videos posted on PDD continues to increase, it gets harder and harder to narrow down the standouts from the past year. But here’s what we’ve come up with. It’s a little heavy on music videos, but there’s a touch of everything else in there. Let us know what we may have missed by adding your own favorites in the comments.
It was a big year for Internet videos, with over 200 Duluth-related segments posted to Perfect Duluth Day. Combing through and picking our favorites was arduous, but we nailed down the top 17 and gave up trying to cut the list at that point.
