Afternoon Sketching in Lester Park with Tea and Cookies
Recent Great Lakes Academy of Fine Art graduate Jake Tremble invites the public to an outdoor sketching session in Lester Park. There will be a small table with drawing supplies, but participants should feel free bring their own. The plan is to draw for an hour and a half or so depending on weather. Artists of all skill levels and methods are welcome. There will be tea and cookies.

Each Wednesday night in June a different local brewery is featured at Glensheen Mansion. Guests have the opportunity to sip beer or a non-alcoholic drink and chat with the brewers. Brewers give a short talk about their brewery and beer at 7 p.m. Attendees can also take a stroll through the recently restored Formal Garden, take a break on the historic pier, or skip some rocks along Tischer Creek or Lake Superior. This class is a general orientation for new members to orient to Duluth MakerSpace. Attendees will be expected to have a current membership or pay for a month's membership at the time of orientation. Tool usage, workshop expectations and function are in this mandatory class to obtain key card access. Hartley Nature Center is the location for June’s book selection, The Unlikely Thru-Hiker by Derick Lugo. This is the account of one man’s trek as a first-time hiker along the Appalachian Trail.
