All comers will have their chance to face off with that famous character James Joyce and read at will of their favorite bits.

Russell V. Gran is the oldest (age 74) artist residing at Washington Studios Artists’ Co-op, but is certainly not the least eccentric. The door to his apartment at Washington is adorned with various quotations and newspaper clippings, with most of them involving some sort of commentary on the aging process.
Sponsored by the Northern Financial Wellness committee, will be held at the Superior Library on Thursday, June 10, at 4:30. Free to the public. Speaker will be financial crimes investigator with the Superior Police Dept., Mike Jaszcak. Please come – with questions!
Natural Parenting Workshop offered through Duluth Community Ed runs for three Wednesdays beginning June 16. Topics include choosing your birth team (OBs/Midwives/Doulas), birth place (options for home birth, hospital birth and birthing centers), what is labor and delivery *really* like?, birth plans, nighttime parenting, breastfeeding and babywearing.
Cost of the class is $25/couple. Register through Duluth Community Ed.
My sister Paige (a.k.a. djhoopster), is coming to the Duluth Farmers’ Market to demonstrate adult hula hooping for fun (feats of dexterity!) and physical fitness (ab-blaster!). She will be there from 9:30am until noon on Wednesday, June 9, and will have homemade hoops available for sale. Come and check it out!
On Saturday, June 12, Bill Flannagan will be playing at Carmody Irish Pub. The 10pm show is free. There will be a few guest appearances. Hopefully a rockin’ good time will be had by all. Hope to see you there.

The concert will feature the four seniors performing popular songs from artists such as John Mayer, the Wreckers, Jason Mraz, and the Beatles. The Junior League of Duluth will host the Grand Opening of the new Playfront Park this Friday, June 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. Mayor Don Ness and representatives from the Duluth Chamber of Commerce will join members of the Junior League of Duluth for the official ribbon cutting at 5 p.m.
