Hucklebeary Duluth and Zeitgeist Arts team up for a night of cocktails, crafting and cinema. Magic Smelt Puppet Troupe presents its 11th annual community costume-and-puppet parade, assembling at the Aerial Lift Bridge behind the Lake Superior Maritime Visitors Center in Canal Park. Teen Intensive Summer Improv Camp
Zeitgeist Arts presents two week-long improv and theater intensives for youths aged 13-19. The first runs June 24-28; the second is from July 8-12. Both are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday and feature a showcase on Friday at 4 p.m. Participants can learn and sharpen skills of improvisation in performance. A Midsummer Night’s Dream Youth Acting Camp
A cast of kids, ages 12-18, and local Duluth artists will put on the Shakespearian favorite, A Midsummer Night's Dream, in a one-of-a-kind, two-week theatrical experience. Students will have a guaranteed role and learn audition techniques, get acting guidance, build confidence, take part in workshops, learn tech and much more. The camp runs from Aug.5 to Aug. 18. Spirit of the Times 2024
Zeitgeist Arts' ninth annual Spirit of the Times fundraiser supports the organization's artistic programming and community development work. The 200 block of East Superior Street will be shut down for the block-party-style extravaganza. The event includes live music and entertainment, silent and live auction items, and food and craft cocktails from Zeitgeist Restaurant & Bar. The event is both indoors and outdoors, with some activities inside the Zeitgeist Arts Building. Doors open at 6 p.m.
