Minneapolis Trio comes to UW-Superior and Red Mug March 26

Minneapolis Trio will be performing in Superior Friday, March 26 at UW-Superior’s Yellowjacket Union from 12-1pm and at the Red Mug Coffeehouse from 8-10pm. All three musicians perform with the New Congress, and the drummer is shared with Johnny Lang. Russ King on piano/rhodes (UWS/UMD alumni), Barry Alexander on drums (Johnny Lang), Justin Blair on bass (TNC). The group plays originals and covers of all different styles. Treasures of the Earth Green Goods, Craft and Art Fair

Head to the Unitarian Church, 835 W. College St, this Saturday (3/27) between 10 and 3 p.m. to visit a unique marketplace of items made locally made of recycled materials or natural (mostly local) material. Over 25 local and regional artists will have all kinds of neat things – jewelry, felted items, baskets (pine needle and birch), painted rocks, rag rugs, jewelry, glass items, and much more. Honey and tea will also be available. The Peace Puppets will greet people and share enviro tips between 11 and 1 p.m. The church will also have a Used Book and Movie Sale during this fair.

This is new classical chamber music featuring a real PDD’er!

The concert features the music of 4 umd alumni composers: Robert Linnemann, Ryan Rapsys, Nick Mroczek and James Gould. All of the pieces are lyrical, varied and entertaining. Every composition is a world debut! The Gichigami Piano Trio is the featured group, but the umd woodwind quintet and other small ensembles will also play.

Duluth Superior GLBTQAI Pride is having its First Annual Brrr-B-Queer this Saturday evening (March 27, 2010) at the Board of Trade Building. We will be partying in the spirit of the the infamous summer Bar-B-Queer and raising money for the Duluth Superior Pride Festival. Break out your cruise-wear, wear white before Memorial Day, feel the linen on your thighs …

Doors open at 7pm. There will be food, open bar and entertainment sure to please even the fussiest of allies. We will be dancing and shmoozing all night long!

Tickets are $40 and can be purchased at A Touch of Plasch, the Main Club or the Flame Nightclub. We anticipate a sell-out – so giddy-up!
